23.7.2010 Nordic Oddity presents the city's hottest attractions and coolest ideas

The Helsinki City Tourist & Convention Bureau has published a new edition of its Nordic Oddity brochure. Covering the entire year, the brochure presents the most interesting attractions in Helsinki for both foreign and domestic visitors. Helsinki residents too can find lots of great ideas for spending a day in their hometown. “Nordic Oddity is like having a friend show you the city from a local’s perspective,” describes Hanna Muoniovaara, Marketing Manager at the Tourist & Convention Bureau.

Nordic Oddity offers year-round ideas for experiencing the city in local style. The brochure is divided into three main themes: Alternative, Bliss and Creative. Alternative provides a new perspective on exploring the city, while Bliss invites you to pamper, indulge and enjoy yourself with luxury experiences. Creative is a new theme that offers cheap, inexpensive and creative ways of spending the day in Helsinki. The attractions are listed according to different times of the day, with ideas and tips offered from early dawn to late at night.

The English-language brochure is available from Tourist Information, Helsinki Helpers and several of the locations listed in the brochure. The brochure can also be read in electronic format on the Tourist & Convention Bureau’s website: www.visithelsinki.fi

Nordic Oddity also has a fansite on Facebook, where visitors can post tips about interesting new attractions and their favourite places in Helsinki. “We warmly encourage Helsinki residents, tourists and other Helsinki fans to share their experiences via Facebook,” Hanna Muoniovaara adds.
