Approximately 20 million visits from outside Greater Helsinki (foreign and domestic)
  • 12.6 million airline passengers via Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport
  • 9.0 million ferry passengers via the Port of Helsinki
  • 360,000 international cruise ship visitors, 263 visits by cruise ships, approximately 100 euros spent by each cruise ship visitor during their visit
  • 29,400 congress visitors, 122 international congresses, approximately 1600 euros spent by each congress visitor during their visit
  • Approximately 15 million one-day domestic visits from outside Greater Helsinki

  • Russia, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, USA and Japan
  • Followed by Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland and Norway

  • In 2009 leisure visitors outnumbered other visitors (business and other) for the first time
  • The number of domestic visitors to Helsinki has been climbing ever since summer 2007
