Tuusulanjärven Matkailu ry (Tuusula Lake Tourism Association) is a registered tourism association of the Lake Tuusula region with 28 members, consisting of the municipality of Tuusula and the city of Järvenpää, local restaurants, hotels, museums, other tourist attractions, souvenir shops, local tourism business educational establishments and local tourist information offices as well as local guides and travel agents.
The Lake Tuusula is only half an hour's drive north from Finland ´s capital, Helsinki.
Around the lake there is the city of Järvenpää and the Tuusula municipality. They have a historical background in common and both are modern, vigorous and crowing regions cherishing their cultural heritage.
In the beginning of the 20th century many masters of Finnish literature, art and music made their mark on the Tuusula Lake Road. Being countryside and close to Helsinki made it possible for these artists to create and take part in the cultural life of Helsinki. This area around the Lake Tuusula gathered together several famous artists in a unique way.
Today you can visit the homes of the composer Jean Sibelius, the painter Pekka Halonen and the author Juhani Aho and his wife the painter Venny Soldan - Brofeldt. There are also many other museums around the Lake Tuusula. Throughout the year concerts and exhibitions and different festivals are being held.
The restaurants of the region will provide you with culinary experiences.
As there is so much to see and experience you may even stay overnight in the hotels.
Information about the museums, other sights, dining -, accommodation - and meeting premises, annual events plus the places for further information you will get at our website www.tuusulanrantatie.info
