Fishing in Helsinki

The clean waters of Helsinki are perfect for fishing. You do not need a permit for angling with a hook and line or ice fishing, but for all other forms of fishing a traveller's fishing permit can be purchased.

Visitors should obtain a tourist fishing permit for fishing with a lure. The Old Town Rapids have been especially preserved for fishing. Permits are available from Meri-Info behind the Technical Museum. Visitors between the ages of 18 and 64 must also pay a fishing management fee.
