The National Museum of Finland illustrates Finnish history from prehistoric times to the present day. Major archaeological finds, the historical, numismatic and ethnological collections have been put together for over 170years. Workshop Vintti on the third floor is an interactive exhibition especially designed for children, where visitors can study the history of Finland and its culture using their hands and heads. VINTTI is suited to everyone over the age of seven. Younger children can visit in the company of adults. There is no upper age limit. Temporary exhibitions.

2010: Tue-Wed 11–20, Thu-Sun 11–18. Vintti open Tue-Sun 12-16.
Price:
2010: Adults 7€, students and pensioners 5€, children under 18 years free of charge. Free entrance on Tuesdays at 17:30-20.

Restaurants:
The cafe-restaurant seats 50 and in the summer months there is an outdoor café for 50 persons. Food and refreshments for the auditorium are served in the adjacent lobby.

Guide booking tel.+358 (0)9 4050 9552 (Tue-Fri 9–12). There's a fee for guided tours (depending on tour). Languages Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Russian. Group size max. 30pers., schoolgroups max. 25 pers. and kindergarten groups max. 15pers.

Disabled persons:
Accessible entrance on Mannerheimintie street. Lift to all exhibitions, electrical doors. An induction loop in the auditorium. Magnifying glasses, wheelchairs and rolling walking aids to lent. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome. Toilet for disabled. A part of the exhibitions are dimly lighted due to technical reasons.
