A unique tropical garden, Gardenia, was opened in April 2001. It is situated in Viikki, in the heart of Helsinki, next to the Vanhankaupunginlahti Bay nature reserve and the Helsinki Univeristy campus area. The luxuriant tropical garden, covered by glass, is a beautiful and refreshing place to visit all year round. Out in the yard there is a genuine Japanese stone garden. Special exhibitions and events.

Open:
2009: Mon-Thu 10-18, Fri closed, Sat-Sun 10-17.

Price:
2009: Adults 3,50€, pensioners 2€, children (3-17 y.) and students 1,80€. Family ticket: two adults & max. 5 children 8€.

Location:
City centre 10 km, airport 18 km. Bus 68 from city centre.

Restaurants:
Cafeteria and lunchrestaurant, 50 seats. During summer also an outside terrace. Offers coffee, refreshments and lunch. Tel. +358 (0)400 601 625.

Entrance fee for groups 3€/pers. (min. 20 persons), children groups 1,50€/pers. (min.20persons). Guided tours in the garden and other theme tours eg. to the Viikki nature, by request.
