Wallet-friendly bars

As you can probably guess, the cheapest bars are not in the city centre. There are exceptions, but on the whole the most affordable bars near the city centre can be found in the Kallio district. Suitable alternatives can be found along Vaasankatu street, which begins from the Sörnäinen metro station, or along Porthaninkatu and Kolmas Linja in the southern parts of Kallio. The bohemian bar culture has recently begun to spread from there towards the district of Vallila.

Nightclubs without entrance fees

Good news: nightclubs in Helsinki do not charge expensive entrance fees like in most other European cities. The only exceptions are when foreign artists are performing. Most nightclubs are in the city centre, and they are usually more expensive than bars.
